Honors of the Association
Volunteer of the Year: Erica Hubbard currently serves as the chairman of the committee to address shortages of SLP’s in school based settings. Erica and her dedicated committee developed brochures to promote school based practices. Erica was named ISHA’s volunteer of the year at the fall convention held in Boise at the Holiday Inn. Ms. Hubbard was honored for her work and dedication with the State Board of Education to halt legislative moves to reduce the professional standards in our schools from a Masters to a Bachelors degree. Ms. Hubbard and members on her committee for Shortages of Speech Language Pathologists continue to work with key entities and stake holders to develop programs and plans to curb the shortages in the state of Idaho for school based speech-language pathologists. Congratulations Erica.
Tammy Emerson was selected by the CSAP organization as the second recipient of the Nancy McKinley award. Ms. Emerson was recognized for her continued support of ISHA in the process of obtaining licensure and direct provider status for Medicaid eligible patients. Ms. Emerson was awarded a plaque at the Conference for State Association Presidents (CSAP) and ISHA received a $1,000.00 award. Congratulations Tammy.
